In what could only be described as a dream, this Championship season for our footballers has been second to none.
Mark McHugh, his team and management have brought an abundance of joy and hope to all corners of Westmeath, from Finea to Glasson, from Tyrrellspass to Rathown, the whole county was united to cheering on the men in maroon!
Since the opening game on April 12th v Longford racking up a fantastic 5-25 to June 21st in Clones where the toll of 7 hard battles (including 3 extra times) just caught up on these resilient young men.
Thank you so much to our amazing supporters, who have been the 16th man in our games this year, after the Meath win, the belief that trickled through the county has been phenomenal and we cannot thank you enough for contributing to that belief.
Westmeath have played the most championship games this season, and made us proud in every single one of them. They are a credit to their clubs, our county and most importantly themselves and we cannot wait to see where the 2027 Intercounty Season takes us!
