A topsy turvy first half saw the Lake County lead by 7 early on before Kildare rallied to level by the 20th minute, only for Westmeath to score 1-5 without reply to lead by 2-14 to 1-10 at the interval.
The second half saw the away side take over proceedings though and the result was never in doubt as they added 2-11 in reply to the home side’s 0-5. Westmeath will now face Armagh in the final on Saturday 6th June, with the fixture details yet to be confirmed at the time of writing.

U15 Hurling Hibernia Playoff Semi Final
Donegal 4-13 Westmeath 0-9
The Hibernia Cup team made the long trip to Convoy in Donegal last Saturday and came up against a well drilled and driven home team. Westmeath failed to take full advantage of the wind in the first half which left the sides level at 0-6 apiece. A more clinical Donegal made this advantage count after the interval and eventually ran out 4-13 to 0-9 winners. The team will now play their final game in the competition on Saturday 14th June, with their opponents yet to be confirmed.
