On Sunday morning, we opened the turnstiles and welcomed in our fantastic supporters to see their heroes after their Leinster Championship win.
Communications Officer Sinéad Kiernan welcomed everyone and introduced the Leinster Champions to the field before manager Mark McHugh thanked the support for being the “16th man” over the past number of games throughout the campaign.
The players dispersed across the field and the supporters orderly queued to meet their champions. We owe a great deed of thanks to our supporters for coming out in their thousands, to the players and management of Westmeath Senior Footballers, to our stewards for working so well with the crowds and managing the day smoothly, to our County Executive for organising the event and to the local authorities to ensure the safety of all entering the grounds.
We cannot wait to see a full house in TEG Cusack Park next Saturday evening for our All-Ireland clash v Cavan!
