Congratulations to Matthew Whittaker who has been named on the Sunday Game Team of the Year for 2026.
Set at 7, a position the young Tubberclair man has made his own, not only in Westmeath but across the country. His skill, speed and talent has not gone unnoticed at the biggest stage.
Matthew’s dedication, resilience and love for the Westmeath jersey has shone through as he battled injuries and kept playing no matter what, to contribute to one of the best years in our history.
