Coaching and Games Update

Westmeath U16 hurlers kick off their Celtic Challenge campaign this Saturday (4th April) with an away game against Roscommon, who have entered their minor team in the competition. At the time of writing, the game was to throw in at 12:00 at a Roscommon venue, that has yet to be confirmed. The team prepared for the competition with a challenge game last weekend against Laois, kindly hosted by Clonkill. They will also face Down on Saturday 11^th April and Mayo on Saturday 25^th April in the group phase.

The first round of hurling Go Games took place last Saturday, with U8 and U10 blitzes being held across the county. Well done to all players and mentors who took part last weekend.

The county will host a football ICGG and safeguarding course in Garrycastle on Friday 10^th and Saturday 11^th April, and a hurling ICGG and safeguarding course in Castletown-Geoghegan on Friday 24^th and Saturday 25^th April. Club coaching officers have been provided with the sign up link for anyone who is interested in taking some of the limited spaces on the courses.

Westmeath U19 footballers play their initial game this Friday (3rd April) away to Laois in LOETB Centre of Excellence at 2:00. The group have had a number of training sessions in the last few weeks in preparation for the game.
