Westmeath U-14 1-16 Antrim U-14 1-12

Our County development U14 Hurling team played Antrim U14’s in a challenge game in Robinstown last Saturday June 2nd. This was the teams third outing in 2018 & they were intent on continuing their unbeaten run having beaten Offaly and Laois previously. The first half was a close affair with Antrim scoring a goal to cancel out three early points from Westmeath courtesy of Davie Williams, Rian Holden & Peter Clarke. Westmeath led Antrim by 2 points at half time with some good scores coming from both sides.

A well taken goal by Davie Williams followed by points from Darragh McCormack and Lorcan O Mara put Westmeath in a commanding position 15 minutes into the second half. Antrim responded strongly and scored 6 unanswered points to leave 2 points between the teams entering the final five minutes. Points from Davie Williams and Darragh McCormack eventually got Westmeath over the line on a scoreline of 1-16 to 1-12. Well done to both teams on a good display of hurling & we look forward to playing Antrim again later in the Summer.
