Westmeath And Armagh Meet For Second Year Running In ‘Back Door’

By Gerry Buckley

Armagh football fans are coming to TEG Cusack Park this weekend for the third time in 11 months. The first ever championship encounter between the counties saw Kieran McGeeney’s men edge out Tom Cribbin’s troops by 1-12 to 1-7 on July 8 last in the Qualifiers, in what proved to be the Kildare man’s last time to wear the Westmeath bainisteoir bib.

Colin Kelly has since taken over the reins in the Lake County and the Louth man will be keen to avenge the Orchard County’s comprehensive league win here on February 4, the visitors 14th victory in 20 National Football League clashes.

Saturdays clash throws in at 7pm at TEG Cusack Park. Adm Adults €15, Juvenile: €5.00 & Student/OAP: €10.00
