Despite a great effort from our footballers Armagh showed their class to win by 2-17 to 1-11 in TEG Cusack Park.
We made a great start thanks to points from youngsters Ronan O’Toole and Luke Loughlin and were frustrating Armagh who didn’t score until the 18th minute.
However, on 22 minutes, Ronan Lappin’s shot bobbled into the net via a deflection to give Armagh the lead. A great score from centre-back Frank Boyle and a John Heslin free made it 1-05 to 0-05 at half-time.
After the break points from Heslin, sub Finbar Coyne, Killian Daly and Callum McCormack made it a 2 point game before a wonderful goal gave us the lead on 51 minutes. A brilliant run from Luke Loughlin set up James Dolan to palm into the net and give us a 1-09 to 1-08 lead.
This was as good as it got though as Armagh would go on to score 1-9 in the remaining minutes, including a goal by captain Rory Grugan from the penalty spot only 2 minutes later.
Heslin and Loughlin finished ourscoring as the visitors ran out deserving winners.
Next up is Wexford in Innovate Wexford Park on Sunday at 2PM.
